Ways to feel more secure when traveling abroad

Traveling to other countries has its own special charms for most people.

Whether it is a leisure trip, be it education or business, or even to stay and immigrate to another country. It is so attractive that everyone is excited about it. But traveling to unfamiliar areas that we have not been to before can sometimes cause us anxiety. That we are going to a country where we may not be familiar with the customs, climate and culture. Or we do not know the laws of that country. Therefore, the travel safety factor is very important. We need to take steps to feel more secure and confident during the trip. But with what measures? In this article, we intend to discuss ways to feel more secure in foreign travel:

1- It is better to read a little about the official and fragrant language and dialect of that country before traveling. Knowing some of the most commonly used words and their spelling also helps us to communicate more easily with others. Knowing English can also be helpful on many trips.

2- Carrying cash is one of the constant challenges for travelers. You should consider the rules for moving banknotes in your own country and the country of destination to avoid currency problems. On the other hand, to avoid stealing cash while traveling, be sure to put your money in a safe place. Avoid putting all your cash in your suitcase.

  1. Before traveling, read a little about the current laws of the destination country. Some completely normal things in our country (such as chewing gum, or hugging and kissing when greeting) are sometimes very offensive or illegal in other countries.

4 – Read about the destination weather. Sometimes not carrying enough or suitable clothing for that weather can cost you a lot of money to buy clothes.

5 – Travel documents including passports, residence cards, visas, and other identity documents in a safe place and be sure to take with you on a city tour. Having a hotel accommodation card can also help you in an emergency.

6- Give ways of communication with yourself, such as the phone number of the hotel, to your relatives in Iran so that in case of emergency, they can inform you or inform you about things.

7- Be sure to get travel insurance before going on a trip. Having travel insurance will help you get help from your travel insurance if you have problems such as illness or accidents, lost luggage, documents or flight delays. Travel insurance must be purchased before the trip and it is better to buy this insurance for the entire period of time you have received the visa so that if your return is delayed for any reason you can still be covered by travel insurance.

8- Before traveling, it is better to look for the embassy or consulate or the office of the guardian of Iran’s interests in that country, so that you can get help from them if you have any problems.

9- If this is your first time traveling by plane, be sure to read about traveling by plane and review the necessary actions during your air travel in your mind. Having enough information about how the plane works can make you feel more relaxed.

10- If you travel by land, and you intend to drive a private or rented car, be sure to carefully review the driving laws in that country. Sometimes in some countries the laws are different and you may face heavy fines.

11- If you travel to a country during peak travel, be sure to book a hotel in advance or plan your stay. In most countries and cities, accommodation is scarce or extremely expensive during peak travel and tourist influx. So traveling without a residence plan at these times is not a good idea at all.

12- Use location finder applications or mobile applications that can introduce you to various places of interest. Before going to different restaurants or centers, you can read the feedback and comments of users who have already traveled and visit the place with the knowledge of previous users’ experiences. By doing this, you will create better memories for yourself.
