State Department responds to Macron’s claim
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saeed Khatibzadeh, reacted yesterday (Saturday) to the remarks of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

In this regard, Khatibzadeh called on Macron to exercise restraint and avoid hasty and ill-considered positions.

A State Department spokesman said: “The UN Security Council is a multilateral international agreement ratified by Security Council Resolution 2231 and is in no way negotiable and the parties are clear and unchangeable.”

Khatibzadeh added: “The United States has withdrawn from this agreement and Europe has been unable to maintain it, and if there is a desire to revive and maintain the UN Security Council, the solution is simple. Resolve the past of that country.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “If the French authorities are concerned about the sale of their large arms to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, it is better to reconsider their policies.”

Khatibzadeh stressed: “French weapons, along with other Western weapons, not only cause the massacre of thousands of Yemenis, but also the main cause of instability in the Persian Gulf region, and without stopping the flood of arms exports from France, Britain, the United States and others, we can not expect stability.” And had peace in this sensitive area.
